Britt's Pub has two locations in Saint John, New Brunswick: Rockwood Park and Uptown. Britt's Pub is an English-style pub whose name was inspired by Miller Brittain. In the 1930's, his art studio was two floors up in the same building where the pub is now located.
Britt's Rockwood is located in front of the Rockwood Park golf course. It is an 18 hole golf course with a driving range to boot! We went in March 2021 and we had the BBQ chicken nachos as well as the regular beef nachos. We went again in August 2022 to update the blog! I'll divide each category into two sections as each plate had a completely different experience.
Distribution of Toppings
The BBQ chicken nachos did not have enough chips to go with the toppings. The beef nachos had good distribution as well but there were not many layers and not much room for error. There might have just been one layer so that is not impressive. They did make more of an effort to spread the beef around on them and that has improved since last time.
Quality
I typically do not order the BBQ chicken nachos when it is an option on the menu. I do not pick it because I am afraid I will get chips and BBQ sauce without any other variety of flavor. With every bite of these BBQ chicken nachos, you could taste the BBQ sauce, the cheese, and the chicken. The jalapeños were high quality (house-made and pickled) as was the bacon.
Britt's Uptown had cheese on every chip and the toppings were effectively layered. We did not ask for extra cheese and I thought this was a good amount of cheese. The (full) BBQ Chicken Nachos also had an excellent distribution of toppings. Every chip had an explosion of flavor of kettle chips, mixed cheese, green onion, pico de gallo, pickle, and BBQ sauce.
Quality
The meat both times was well-cooked but was still moist, the cheese was tasty, and the tortilla chips were crunchy and everything was heated to perfection. There was no spice on the chips but I thought it was overall a good effort.

It appears that regular corn chip beef nachos are not an option anymore! I think the prices are very fair considering the quality of the nachos offered at Britt's.

The BBQ Chicken Nachos as well as the Beef Nachos are good on their own, but I think you would have to order something else if you were sharing them for a meal.
Conclusion
I am happy to move Britt's up the ladder in the hometown top ten. Despite the fact that there were not enough chips to go with the toppings, the quality and value made up for it. I also wanted to note that the personality of the nachos as well as the overall atmosphere at Britt's Rockwood were taken into account when considering the increase in the overall nacho blog grade. I am looking forward to returning to what is now one of my favorites in Saint John.

I think the BBQ Chicken Nachos at Britt's is an example of a successful kettle chip nacho. If you are going to serve kettle chips, you have to really be sure to have good blends of sauce and toppings but you also have to make sure there is not so much that the chips become soggy. In this case, they mastered the quality and avoided the calamity that is sogginess.

The BBQ Chicken Nachos at Britt's Uptown are $13 for the half and $22 for the full plate. This price comes with a sour cream. The picture that is shown is the full plate and $22 is kind of high; however, I think it's justified considering that we were blown away by the quality and distribution of toppings.

It's almost like (Survivor China season 15 spoiler alert), when the person in the final tribal council silenced the juror that loved to talk and argue with everyone in that season. The finalist was so good that he silenced the juror. I feel like Britt's did such a good job that they have "silenced me". The BBQ Chicken Nachos are excellent, and their other nachos are good as well. My rating combines the regular beef (good) with BBQ Chicken (excellent).
