Dos Toros Taqueria & Tequila Bar is located in Fredericton's South Side on Queen Street. We really needed to go to some place other than STMR or The Snooty Fox so that we could add some variety to our nacho experiences in Fredericton. It's hard because you run the risk of the nachos not being very good but then maybe there is a hidden gem. It's all about risk/reward.
How did these nachos do? Despite us arriving 15 minutes before closing time (Google maps hours didn't reflect a recent switch to winter hours), our server treated us well and delivered an excellent nacho experience.

Distribution of Toppings
The distribution of toppings was perfect! Every chip had something on it.
Quality
They used a delicious chili spice seasoning on the chips and the toppings were well-seasoned as well. The seasoning combined with great distribution ensured that there was never a dull moment with the flavors. Toppings included a proper cheese blend along with corn, black bean, tomato, lettuce, queso fresco, and taco beef. These were assembled in a vibrant presentation that really enhanced the experience. The jalapeños were raw as opposed to the standard pickled type, which may not appeal to everyone. In addition, there was not much of a toast factor. This may be due to the amount of veggies which often makes it hard to achieve the toasted effect, or it may have been that these were possibly rushed due to it being near closing time.
Quantity
This was sufficient to share as a meal.
Value
The regular price for the nachos was $27 but since it was nacho night, we got $4 off. It was $3 for guacamole and $6 extra for taco beef. We had nachos in downtown Montreal for almost half of this price. I found them to be kind of pricey compared to our other Fredericton favorites as well.
Service
We were there 15 minutes before the kitchen closed for the night and you would not know it based on the service we received. I really appreciated that friendly and efficient service, given that we were keeping them past closing time.
Conclusion
I really enjoy nacho chips with seasoning. It is rare to get seasoning, and it gives the nachos a little extra magic. I also really did enjoy the service with a smile 15 minutes before closing and then even after closing. The visual presentation and great taste are a big positive for these nachos. The so-so value and the lacking toast factor make them pretty good nachos, but not excellent ones. I was very happy to explore out of my Fredericton nacho comfort zone; these nachos made great fuel for a big bike ride around the trails!
