Normally when I review a restaurant at a different location, I group them together in one post. An example would be Cask and Kettle as they have locations in Rothesay, Saint John, and Grand Bay, New Brunswick. This Cheers Bar was so different from Cheers Boston that I had to do a separate entry for it. These nachos at Cheers Beverage Room were my post-marathon nachos. I really took in the experience of having caffeine for the first time in a couple of weeks and having nachos for the first time in over a month. The Cheers Beverage Room has a cozy laid back feel, with friendly service. If you would like to read more about it, the link is here.
Distribution of Toppings
Cheers Bacon Double Cheeseburger (large) Nachos - October 2024 |
The distribution of toppings was about fair. There were plenty of loose toppings left over afterwards and we scooped them up with the bare chips. There was a lot of cheese on the top layer but not much under the hood.
Quality
When I tasted the nachos, they came off as very saucy and had loads of pickle flavor. If you do not like pickles like myself, you might not have really cared for these nachos. However, you could also really taste the bacon flavor on the chips and I enjoyed having the traditional cheese blend on them. There were many visible shreds as you can see in the photos, so we don't consider that fully cooked through.
Quantity
It was sufficient to share as a meal after a marathon.
Service
The server was very friendly and really added to the experience at Cheers Beverage Room.
Value
The Bacon Double Cheeseburger Nachos come in two sizes: Regular and Large. If you order the regular it is $17.75 and the large is $22.75. The Sweet and Spicy Chicken Nachos and the Chicken Wing Nachos are the same price but the Classic Cheers Nachos are $15.75 for regular and $19.75 for large. I think the value is pretty good considering the meat is included, the service was fast and friendly, the atmosphere was very laid back, and they do have a unique flavor.
Conclusion
Overall, I thought my visit to Cheers Beverage Room was a nice treat after running a marathon. The Cheers name attracted us here after eating at Cheers Boston earlier this year, and I really enjoyed the atmosphere, service, and value. However, the nachos turned out to be pretty mid-level because of the distribution of toppings, lacking toast factor, and the pickle taste that really dominated the flavor of these nachos.
